Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026. Send a Raven is an early pilot — this policy will change as the product does.

Send a Raven is a small, early-stage pilot for long-form letter writing, operated by Existential Millenial LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what happens to it — including a situation that doesn’t come up for most apps: we sometimes hold information about people who never signed up themselves.

Information we collect

From you, when you create an account: your name, and either a phone number or email address (used to sign you in — we don’t use passwords). If you fill in a bio, we store that too.

The letters you write. The full text of every letter you send is stored so it can be delivered and so your threads work.

Information about the people you write to. When you send a letter, you give us that person’s name and a phone number or email address so we can deliver it. See the section below — this is the one part of how Send a Raven works that’s worth reading closely.

If someone sent you a letter and you never signed up

Send a Raven lets you write to someone even if they’ve never used it — the recipient doesn’t need an account to receive a letter or read it. To make that work, when a Send a Raven user writes to you, we create a lightweight record for you using the name and contact info they provided, so the letter has somewhere to live and a thread to belong to.

If you never sign in, that record just sits there holding the letters sent to you — we don’t do anything else with it, and it’s not shared with anyone beyond what’s needed to deliver the letter itself. If you do sign in with that same phone number or email, it becomes your real account and you have full control over it, same as anyone else.

Either way, you can ask us to delete this information at any time — see Contact below. If someone gave us your contact info and you’d rather we didn’t have it, just tell us.

How we use this information

To deliver letters (by email, and by text once that’s available), to show you your threads and connections, and to run the basic functioning of the app. That’s it — we don’t use your information for advertising, we don’t sell it, and we don’t share it with anyone except the service providers below, strictly to make the app work.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of outside services to run Send a Raven: a hosting provider to run the app, a database provider to store data, and an email (and eventually text-message) delivery provider to actually send letters. Each of them only sees what they need to do their specific job — a delivery provider sees the message it’s sending, for instance. None of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active. If you’d like your account and everything in it deleted, contact us and we’ll take care of it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but Send a Raven is an early pilot run by one person, not a security team — please don’t use it for anything you wouldn’t want stored on a small, early-stage product.

Children

Send a Raven isn’t intended for anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We’ll update this page as the product changes, especially once real text-message delivery is turned on. Meaningful changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
